The Security Support Service and the Security Enforcement Service
The Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms in the Senate is the primary department in charge of security and safety of the Senate, the Senators, employees, guests and property. Among its tasks are the service of summons issued by Senate Committees and the maintenance of peace and order in the plenary sessions, chambers and committee hearings. It is mandated to receive electoral returns during Presidential elections. It also serves its functions during impeachment trial hearings.
